JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN CLASS

Our Junior Kindergarten program offers a warm, supportive environment that nurtures the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Designed for older four-year-olds and young five-year-olds, this program gives families the gift of time, allowing children to grow in confidence, maturity, and readiness at their own pace before entering kindergarten.

Through caring guidance, consistent routines, and purposeful play, children develop independence, self-regulation, and strong peer relationships. Students also learn about God’s love by practicing kindness, compassion, and care for others in their daily interactions.

Instruction is aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and features phonics-based early literacy using the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum, early numeracy, and hands-on STEM learning that encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Small-group instruction allows teachers to meet each child’s individual needs, ensuring a smooth, confident transition into kindergarten and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
