Hi, my name is Heather Knapp! While this year will mark my third year at PLC, I have been teaching and working with children of all ages for over 20 years.
I grew up in Florida and Alabama then attended Cumberland College in eastern Kentucky. I began working with children as a nanny and after school care teacher during college. I later received my Master of Education from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. After graduating I taught middle school and high school science for 13 years in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and New York. During my time teaching in New York, I met and married my wonderful husband, Mark. Four years and a transfer to California later, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, after which I took some time away from the classroom to focus on family. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, DIY projects and spending time with family and friends.
Three years ago, I returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher before becoming a full-time preschool teacher at PLC. I look forward to another amazing year with a great team of teachers and staff. I am also looking forward to an exciting year of growth and fun in our classroom!
